Andhra Pradesh's Director of Medical Education Dr. T. Ravi Raju said at a press conference at the Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences at Puttaparthy on Wednesday that Sai Baba was responding well to treatment and that his heart beat was normal, although the pumping was not proper. His blood pressure levels were also normal. In view of his poor immunity level, it cannot be said that he would recover fast, Dr. Raju said.

According to Principal Health Secretary of Andhra Pradesh P.V. Ramesh, Sai Baba's vital signs were stable and the electrolyte levels normal. His temperature too was coming down and lung infection reducing. However, there was some concern about the BP control as its levels were dropping without medication. He was on dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy was being continued.

Dr. Ramesh appealed to people to understand the complexity of the treatment being given to the 85-year-old Sai Baba. He urged them to cooperate with the doctors in their efforts to nurse him back to recovery.
