In his book 'Miracles are My Visiting Cards' in which he investigates various aspects of Sathya Sai Baba's life and works, Professor Erlendur Haraldsson interviewed several persons who gave accounts which conflict with the 'accepted wisdom' of Sai Baba followers and the 'official' propaganda spread by his organization and media outlets. Among these are recorded interviews with Krishna Kumar, who Sai Baba called his 'soul brother', but who left Sai Baba in 1952 after years as his closest companions, not least because he was unfairly accused by Baba of having an affair with a 60-years old woman. One of Haraldsson's witnesses was a Mr.Varuda who Haraldsson interviewed in Madras in the mid-1970s. Varuda was - related to Dr. C.T.K. Chari and Mrs. Kamala Sarathy, and he knew Krishna Kumar well between May 1949 and 1953. Here is Varuda's account of Krishna's break with Sai Baba in Haraldsson's book (p. 164-5)
