Dear Sir/Madam,

Re your web page at:

http://www.revelation37.freeserve.co.uk/contents/links2.htm

Your site gives information about the Sathya Sai Baba Organisation.

Are you aware, for example, that a great many allegations - such as a vast scale, serial paedophilia - have been seriously levelled against him by young males and their families and friends all round the world?

I am a former lecturer in his education establishment at Whitefield College, via Bangalore, south India.  After September 1999, I made extensive worldwide investigation and was forced to realise that his accusers are thoroughly good, decent, coherent, truthful individuals.

Other investigating former devotees of Sathya Sai Baba and I have set ourselves a harrowing task:  this has been to listen, many times, directly to very large numbers of individuals and families who have been shockingly shattered by their experiences with Sai Baba and his likewise shameless officials.  Where these interventions are welcome, we assist in co-ordinating emotional support by qualified sexual abuse counsellors and also in proper, careful documentation.

Contrary to what many Sai devotees tirelessly claim (who are frequently shielded from the information by fiat of the apex leadership of the world Sathya Sai Organisation), in no sense do we slander Sathya Sai Baba or his officials. It is a resolute stand for truth, compassion, duty of care, and civil responsibility to report honestly what we have learnt.

In this, we are involving Interpol, Scotland Yard, Federal Bureau of Investigation, French National Police (the Sureté), Criminal Bureau of Investigation, New Delhi, and other national police forces. As well, we have extensively presented documentation to many foreign and other government ministries. UNESCO has published a Media Advisory and the State Department a Travel Advisory regarding Sathya Sai Baba (These and other vital documents are conveniently available on the websites I mention below, which have internal search engines).

I wish to make a formal complaint to to those in charge of your website, and ask that the Sathya Sai Baba Organisation references on your website be forthwith removed.

I note that you are in the UK. Certainly, I can refer you to officials who are well apprised of the case in your Prime Minister's Department, Home Office, and Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Scotland Yard, etc. In your own country, the Times of London and the Daily Telegraph have also published highly researched stories on the allegations. In my attachment, you will note many other media, likewise well esteemed for high journalistic standards, who have investigated.

I shall inform former devotees throughout the world of your website and of your support of Sai Baba and his Organisation.  Surely, there is enough penetrating, incisive, truthful information on our websites to allow you to see that Sai Baba and the ruling sections of his organisation are not as decent, civil and loving as they so often appear.  If not, I shall gladly and empirically add to it for you.

You should then conclude similarly to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Adelaide, South Australian who appointed a high-ranking University investigator to advise him in these matters.  In the last fortnight, he has cancelled the Sai National Conference 2003, which had been scheduled for his University April 18-25.

In September 2000, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Flinders, also after the most careful investigation, cancelled, as did UNESCO (Paris), a delegation to a conference in the same month at Sai Baba's establishment at Puttaparthi.

Similarly, last year, the Danish civil authorities, following an extensive investigation of Sai Baba by the national Danish broadcaster, DR, prevented the sale of a castle in Copenhagen to the Sathya Sai Organisation. The list of other cancellations of projects by authorities in various countries goes on ...

Better informed, you will surely conclude that there is sufficient evidence of a vast cover-up by Sai Baba and his accomplices, and a devastating refusal by the Sai Organisation to show duty of care to the young males or their families who have desperately tried to bring their agonising situations before its officials, including some of its foremost leaders. Regretably, my own country, Australia, must be included in the terrible roll-call of dishonor.

I ask you not to be misled by the fact that many Sai devotees are good and decent people, although caught in the clutches of unthinking, and of psychological denial. Absurdly, and in violation of their duty as law-abiding citizens, those devotees who admit his many sexual molestations repeatedly pass them off as raising the kundalini, expunging bad karmas, soothing raging hormones, and other specious rationalisations.

You can refer to www.exbaba.com and www.saiguru.net and see the exceptional social, ethical, intellectual responsibility and profound genuineness of the former devotees who seek to bring to light these terrible matters.

An essential document is:

http://www.petitiononline.com/saibaba/

which is a public petition for official investigations by governments and other authorities of Sathya Sai Baba and his worldwide organisation. Many are the highly respected individuals who have already provided over three hundred signatures.

I also attach a copy of my Open Letter to A.B. Vajpayee, the Indian Prime Minister.

Faithfully, Barry Pittard.  Email: bpittard@beachaccess.com.au
