Disquiet In India On Sathya Sai Baba

"Despite a profound black ban by most of the Indian media on news inimical to Sathya Sai Baba and his cult, various forces of dissent in India continue to protest Sathya Sai Baba related visits involving Sathya Sai Baba devotee Chief Minister of the State of Maharashtra, Ashok Chavan. The two news reports below are months apart.

In the second report, our ‘old’ acquaintance, Shrivraj Patil, the former Indian Home Minister rates a mention. Patil is one of a number of deeply disgraced former government officials who are devotees of Sathya Sai Baba.  One cannot but wonder whether, in his role as India’s ministerial guardian of internal security,  he had been listening far too intently to his guru’s badly failed prophecies, instead of to Indian government security advisors. In his  Convocation address, 22 October 2008, Sathya Sai Baba – in an utterance that the history of terrorism discloses as tragically crass – said:

“India is the only place where people are not worried about any attacks.  In America , Germany andother countries, they cant eat well or sleep well. There is fear of bombs always in those countries. But in India, there is no fear of bombs. India will never have any such attacks. Patil was forced to resign"
